Amid rising tensions following India's May 7 offensive and Pakistan’s claimed aerial retaliation, Pakistani military-linked social media accounts have released night-vision footage allegedly showing an Indian aircraft wreck burning near Bathinda Airbase in Punjab.

The video — now circulating widely on X (formerly Twitter) — shows what appears to be flaming debris and locals scrambling at night.

While Indian officials have neither confirmed nor denied the incident, local sources in Punjab have reported unusual military activity around the airbase and restricted access to surrounding roads.

Why Bathinda Matters

Bathinda is not just any target — it’s one of India’s key airbases in Punjab, housing Su-30MKIs and MiG-21s. Any successful hit on infrastructure or stationed aircraft here would be a strategic embarrassment for India and a propaganda win for Pakistan.

The Bigger Picture

This footage follows Pakistan’s earlier claims of having shot down five Indian aircraft — including three Rafales — and a Heron drone during India’s "cowardly attack." The alleged strike near Bathinda may be linked to that air-to-air engagement, or it could represent a second wave of precision retaliation.

Pakistan has framed the attack as defensive action under its right to protect sovereignty.

The Mullet Take

What’s happening now is narrative warfare at Mach speed.
